Norpace is commonly taken to treat serious ventricular arrhythmias, such as ventricular tachycardia. An antiarrhythmic Ia class drug, a blocker of the "fast" Na+ channels. It has a membrane stabilizing, anti-arrhythmic, hypotensive and m-anticholinergic action. Norpace (Disopyramide) works by blocking certain electrical signals in the heart that cause it to beat too fast or irregularly. This helps the heart beat normally again.
